Need info on this mower

Postby Mr E » Sun Sep 01, 2013 4:39 pm

It is an International C2. What is puzzling (at least to me) are the pulleys on the mule gear.
Are there missing pulleys? Or does the back of the belt actually run on these idler type pulleys?
I have attempted to look at the manual but the pictures aren't really that good.
Any help is much appreciated.

Don't know much about the history of the critter....Just happen to have a C2.....The whole Bull gear is different from mine....Mine is "plainer" with no grooves or notches and welded differently....And of course different pulleys....Mine looks beefier also....Dave

it does appear to be a C2, but your pictures do not show enough to tell if all the mounting hardware is there. I believe the original idler pulleys have been replaced with some for a riding lawn mower. They should be V groove pulleys. You are missing the pulley that goes on the pto shaft.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

John, the pto pulley is not pictured, as you observed. I do have it. So the "idler pulleys" SHOULD BE regular V groove pulleys then. First one I have ever seen with the idler type pulleys.

Yes as Mr John stated they should be V pulleys. And they are mounted wrong. Looks like there is another bracket on there? One of the pulleys should be on there, not close to the other one. Been some PO modification or it's not original mule drive

Edit: in fact I think mule drive is a fab job? I have a mule drive you are welcome to Mr E.

Roy:

I will bet ya dollars to doughnuts that this particular mower comes from a Numbered Cub. It is probably a IH 3142 Rotary Cutter modified to fit a Cub with a Fast Hitch maybe. The U 1111 is a good indicator. Here are some interesting results from a google search.
