49 cub restore
Hello to all cub guys and gals.I recently joined your organization at a farm and tractor show out here in northern California. I have a 53M that I am restoring and my grandson Justin turned 8 and we just brought home a 49 cub for both of us to bring back to life. It was left out in the weather for almost ten years so I know we have our work cut out for us. He has plans of driving it in the labor day parade a year from now so we will most likely be asking for some help and suggestions along the way. Everyone on the forum board seems to be very friendly and helpful, we are looking forward to making new friends with this project. Thanks, Allan & justin

Allan and Justin:
G'day to you and congrats on acquiring your very 1st new to you Cub Be careful, these things are highly addictive and they tend to multiply when you least expect it.
Taking the time to teach your grandson the joys of old iron is really and I mean really . Not much better than that right Do enjoy this journey as it is a very special one for you both.
You might want to take a little time and read the information contained in the links below:

Allan and Justin, Welcome to the Forum. If you're used to working on an M, you'll find the Cub to have much lighter, more manageable parts. Plenty of info here, so if you have questions or problems, ask away.

Re: 49 cub restore
Welcome from the SF bay area...not many northern Californians here that I've seen...so you're in the right spot. I recently redid a '51 hi-crop and would have had a very difficult row to hoe (note agricultural metaphor) without the staggering quantity of knowledge and generosity of the kind folks here.

Many thanks to everyone for the kind words and encouragement, we are both novices to the computer and posting process. How does one go about posting pictures of our project to share with you all. Justin
