Yep! Cow manure better. By the time it goes thru all the cows stomachs. The weed seeds are gone.
Hi Rudi, Well the chicken pluckers run a big plant over the road a bit and now charge for their chicken manure...Not many small or medium chicken farms around here as with the goat and sheep spreads....Maybe you could load me up a load of chicken manure and bring it down to Cecils when you come ....I could get Diana to go to Rhinebeck with Em and you could come out here and spread it while I work on my cubs while reading your manuals .....No ....I thought not, but worth a try Dave.....See you in Oct...Rudi wrote:Dave:
Check out the local chicken, goat and sheep farmers. High value manure that usually ends up sitting in piles. This stuff is really rich and produces like crazy. Excellent amendment to the horse manure bulk that you are using. As Ed said, plant a winter cover crop and let all that wonderful green bio-mass enrich your soil for you The old folks were pretty smart
