final drive removal

Postby KyCub54 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 7:23 pm

two questions. 1. what does final drive assy weigh?
2. Cub starts easily, but surges (rpm's) i play with the choke and it settles down. Sometimes, after it warms up it will do it again. Any ideas?

Welcome to the board!
Finals weigh about 75-80 lbs I think.
If choke settles it down, turn the fuel off at the bowl and pull and clean the main jet from the side of the carb. If it still continues to surge, check the play in the governor arm linkage in the keyway. May need a shim or the keyway tightened.
