Power King wheels will fit Cubs?

Postby Xperimental » Fri Oct 18, 2013 9:45 pm

I am 99.9% certain but wanted check here. Will the 24" wheels from a Power King 2418 fit Cubs? I have read in many places that they are identical and were apparently made by IH.

Yes,they fit,as well as the front wheels and all the weights also. I'm fairly certain F&H made the rear wheel centers(discs)for IH-have seen it stamped in on the disc.

The rear wheels and tires on my Cub are from a Power King 2414.

The Power King front wheels will fit but are not exactly identical. The gap between the rim and the center is greater on them.

Thanks for confirming that these hubs and rims interchange with the IH Cub parts. I found a pair of Power King wheels and hubs with some good looking Goodyear Traction Torques on eBay. Since these will bolt on my Cubs, and the traction torque is my favorite tire, I bought them. The traction torque tires have been out of production for a long time and good ones with little wear are getting hard to find. I have been looking for a new or near new 11.2 X 36 traction torque to match a tire on my Farmall 200 for over 10 years.

Try a set of the power King 16 inch wheels on your cub for the next pull.

John, I saw that some Power Kings used 16" wheels but it looked like they have a different hub bolt pattern. But a smaller diameter wheel would sure slow down ground speed and improve the pulling capacity. I often wish the Cub had a gear lower than 1rst gear.

It would use more gas though since it would always be running up hill.

Don't know about the centers, but the rear wheels were made by both Goodyear and Firestone. I have one of each on the cub.

The Power King 16" wheels use a 6-bolt pattern whereas the 24" wheels use a 5-bolt pattern.

On a Power King, the rear hubs can be changed to allow the use of either size rear wheel but the front spindles have to be changed also to keep the tractor level.

You could always put a LoBoy front end under it.
