You will lose some height using the clevis, however another buffer certainly doesn't hurt...I mentioned before that I drilled another hole just above the spring and below the existing 2 holes to give me more operating height...Works fine...I got my clevis from JP Salvage a site sponsor....Dave :D

Thanks for info on that flexy loosey-goosey clevis pin. While I don't seem to have an issue with frequent severe jolts,I do get a few now and then. A clevis pin might be good to have. I do lament the low lift of the blade, even without the clevis pin. I get a load of gravel now and then to resurface the driveway and it might be handy to have a higher lift for spreading gravel.

Drilling some alternate holes while adding a clevis pin might be next summer's mini-project. BTW, the clevis pin looks easily homemade. Anyone try that?

If your blade isn't lifting high enough, you probably have a problem with wear in the varios pivot points. The lifting arm is a prime problem area and a good fix is at the top of this thread.
