With more and more retailers opening up on Thanksgiving, your observation will diminish in time (somewhat). I hear you can get the same "door buster" deals from most retailers online. Why fight the crowds?

True I'm afraid. I can remember when we spoke of the Friday after Thanksgiving. The term black Friday is relatively new. The retailers have been able to turn Friday into a holiday or maybe I should say THE holiday. We intend to stay home. Wife is looking at one item online. Vern

Any gifts I give are made by me, or money. I hear about the chaos but I barely even know what it is.

In my job (central office technician of local phone company) We always worked out a system between those of us scattered through different offices in the area that someone was available for emergencies. It was not required, but the 5 of us worked it out between us. I used to take off during the Easter and Thanksgiving holidays when my wife could get off school, so we could make a trip to Ark. to see her family, then I would stay around for call outs the rest of the holidays. When my wife's family became scattered around several states, and her parents were deceased, I was available for those holidays too and the other guys could take them off.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
