Hi everyone,
My husband Todd Claxton used to post in this form. Sadly, Todd passed away 6 months ago. He restored a 67 Farmall Cub several years ago. The tractor is a part of his estate and I have to sell it, but I have no idea how much it's worth, nor what is the best way to sell it. I would really appreciate your help with that. It's a 67 Farmall Cub with a cycle mower and a snow plow. Is fully restored and he used it to plow snow a few years ago.
I'm attaching a few pictures.

Sorry for your loss. The tractor is beautiful and looks very well done. Others will be along shortly to give insight regarding the selling of your Cub.

Sorry for your loss. If you have some time to sell I'd suggest checking Craig's list and e-bay to get some idea of where to start. You'll see prices all over the place. That is a very nice looking machine and If it runs as good as it looks then you should have no problem selling it. Craigslist is a good place to sell since you can reach a large audience. Good luck!

Clarksburg, MD. Perhaps someone in your area can come over to inspect the tractor and provide an opinion as to the suggested selling price for the tractor and implements.
Craig's list, probably the easiest method, usually gets wide circulation, if there is someone around to take calls and talk to prospective buyers.
Place an ad or ads in the free flyers that are available at auto parts and farm and ranch stores.
I would avoid places that take a percentage of the selling price. Local auctioneers will take 10% to 15% - - but a local auction is a fast and easy way to sell items. The selling price is dependent upon folks at the auction. Also, last tractor auction I attended, high bids on tractors were about 50% to 60% of what the same tractor would have sold for a couple of years earlier.
Absolutely make sure the tractor starts and runs. Non running tractors sell for considerably less than running tractors, despite their appearance. Air up the flat front tire.
Just my wild guess as to asking price for tractor and implements: $3000- asking. Probably sell for $2500-.

Re: Looking for advise on selling a 67 Farmall Cub
Sorry to hear of your loss.
Cub prices are starting to rebound. A nice and well cared for Cub, like that one, should be worth $3000 or so. But finding a buyer is the hard part.
I would advise AGAINST Craigs List for the simple reason that you don't ever know who you are dealing with. I don't like the idea of inviting complete strangers over to kick the tires, regardless of the possibility of getting more for it than other places.
Hopefully one of the Maryland Cub folks will see this and offer you some assistance. That Cub deserves a good home and you deserve a fair price for it.

Possibly there is a dealership where your late husband purchased parts for the Cub who might be willing to sell it on consignment. They would probably get you the most money for it and take the burden of selling it off of you. Might be worth checking out.

If it has not been started for quite awhile you will want to make sure it has oil pressure when it is started again. If it is run very long with no pressure you risk harming the engine.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

HI there. I tend to agree with Buzzard Wing, Larry, about Craigs List. You just never know who is knocking on your door if you advertise that way. But I did want to say to you that I thought your Cub looks really nice and would be something I'd like if I were after another Cub (and I'm not). But it is attractive and so I think, if it is also mechanically in great shape, that it'll sell for you. No doubt, via this forum, there are a few in your area who might spread the word on that spiffy tractor's availability. Like the other fellows, I'm deeply sorry on your loss and wish you well.

Re: Looking for advise on selling a 67 Farmall Cub
That is a real nice Cub and I would make you an offer if I were in the market. My sister lived in Clarksburg up until last summer and it is a very nice area. I am actually not that far away. To echo what others said, your tractor should bring $2500+ and I might ask $3000. A lot can depend on how much of a hurry you are to sell it and how much trouble you want to go through. Funny thing about Cubs is that they do not seem to bring much more than $3000 no matter the condition. Like Eugene said, the tractor must start and run to get a reasonable price. Things to point out to a buyer beyond the pretty appearance is the snow blade (worth ~$300), the sickle bar mower (~$200), wheel weights (~$200), good tires (~???). A fire sale, need to move it now, friend price for your Cub with accessories and assuming it runs well would be $2000. As you can see, it is a fairly narrow price range. You could list it for sale on this site. Hope that helps. --Lee
