Re: Starting a new project 1960 Lowboy
Can someone post some pics of the aluminum emblems for this Cub?
The ones that are on it are all faded. I would like to get the correct paint or look for them.
Good close up pics.
Thanks!

Not very close up, but your red Lo-Boy emblems should look like the ones on the yellow/white one in the background. Later on in the 1960 model year the Lo-Boys were painted yellow and the emblems looked like the one in the foreground.

That has to be the understatement of the day! There has to be a LOT of work that went into those and it shows. Great job.Shultzie wrote:Been workin' on the emblems a little bit........

Well I brought the rest of the tractor back to my house except for the engine.
I got a lot of work ahead of me.

Re: Starting a new project 1960 Lowboy
Thanks for all the comments and help so far guys!
Now more questions.
I need info. on the sickle bar. Is there a manual I can download somewhere? No big hurry for this. It's the last thing I'm gonna work on.
Second, is this what they call a "fast hitch"?
What are the two items for with the green arrows? Is the one a spring assist?
Thanks again!

Re: Starting a new project 1960 Lowboy
The 3 parts you are questioning are parts of a Fast-Hitch. It looks like part of the Fast-Hitch was removed and a fixed drawbar from who knows where was adapted to the tractor.
The mower manual can be found on the manual server here:
http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Cub%20Implement%20Manuals/International%2022,%20Cub-22,%20and%20L-22%20Mowers/index.html
That manual covers 3 mowers. The mower you have is an L-22. Much of the information applies to all three. Where the manual makes distinctions, that is the part you need to use.

Re: Starting a new project 1960 Lowboy
Hummm.........
So what you are saying is that I only have some of the fast hitch and what I have pointed out is not being used?
I figured the fixed drawbar was rigged from some previous owner, because it is really flimsy compared to what I have on my Cub.
Can I just take off the rest of the fast hitch to clean it up a bit?
Then I can maybe get a real cub fixed draw bar.
Your thoughts are welcome.
Thanks.

Of course you can. Don't forget that the Loboy drawbar brackets are different than for a standard Cub and you will need implement bolts to install the brackets. --Lee

Yes, and I'll point out that those left over parts have value, especially the helper spring assembly that is frequently separated from Fast-Hitch attachments.

Re: Starting a new project 1960 Lowboy
I got a little more done last night.
The left brake foot control is stuck. Can that shaft be taken out easily? The clutch was stuck but I got it to break free and is getting better the more I mess with it.

Re: Starting a new project 1960 Lowboy
Indy61, thanks for the extreme close up pic of the Cub LoBoy badge!
I've been looking at the other International badge and it's not an extreme close up. Is it all bare aluminum accept for the black letters or is it painted white?
Any help would be great. Also I had a question from my last post that I need answered if possible.
I think this week end I will take a tourch to it so see if I can free it up.
Thanks for all your help so far.
