New member from Alberta
Hello all,
I'm retired military living out on the prairie with an interest in cars and now tractors. I just picked up a 64 Farmall Cub (of course on the coldest day so far this winter) and I think I'll be able to get some use out of it...
I was lurking on the site since summer so thanks to you all, I had a pretty good idea of what to look for and where to get the guidance if I have a problem.
Thanks again and cheers.

Thanks, so would that put you on the Sask side around Provost? It is the one that is (as of this post!) on Kijijiji. As for the colour I'm not sure. I had a fast look today and couldn't find a sign of any colour other than red, but then again with the rare break in the cold, I was too busy messing around with it in the yard.

Welcome!
That looks to be one of the last 6V Cubs. Square hood Farmall is pretty rare. Fine looking Cub!
Enjoy it!

Re: New member from Alberta
Yep JR, they are pretty rare. From the picture you can tell it's 6v (starter is smaller and has a switch on it, 12v is key switch) but I would have to ask Boss Hog about the 'cut off'. Both 6V and 12V are listed as 'Farmall' and if you look at the serial number guide the last 64 Farmall is 224703. I think all the 12V ones are the very, very rare red with a white hood, something like 300 or so made??
Sapper, were you a sapper and miner in the military??
Edit to change to 'key switch'.

Re: New member from Alberta
The serial number on mine is 224216 so that makes it 70th from the end! Amazing.
Thanks everyone for the thing I learned today. There will be many more and I can't wait.
@Buzzard Wing: Yep, I was a Field Engineer (The name switched to Combat Engineer in my last year of service) with an EOD specialty for 25 yrs. The final surgical repair didn't take as well as they hoped, so out I went. Mileaged out, not age of the chassis.
@jrenn: We're definitely neighbours since Wainwright is "just around the corner"!
