Cultivator question- want to convert to hydraulic

It's a manual rockshaft converted to use with hydraulics. Or at least that what it looks like. I'm looking on my phone so hard to tell much about it. It should be usable at any rate.

Think the price is more than fair. Shipping will be the largest expense.

Have you contacted the advertisers on this site? I would wait a bit before purchasing. There may be someone much closer with a complete unit.

Sorry- the photo of the front manual rockshaft is NOT from my tractor (I got it from the internet to use to ask questions). My tractor has no front rockshaft at all and no manual lever. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm hoping I have the correct rear rockshaft already (are there different kinds for hydraulic vs. manual?)

Someone on the vine is parting a few cubs and offered to sell a complete hydraulic system for $200 + shipping. Seems like a good deal- any specific questions I should ask before buying it?

Sounds like a great deal if working. Don't feel Robert would steer you wrong. Perhaps you might find a Cub Express to save on the shipping.

This may be beside the point, but I wanted to add my two cents: I use the standard cultivators on both of my cubs a lot--one has hydraulics and the other has a hand lift. I far prefer the hand lift when cultivating, since it gives you a whole lot more control to keep the cultivators right where you want them. The hydraulics don't move in real time, and can dive too deep or rise out of the soil if your bed isn't perfect. If that's all you're needing to do with your lift system you might consider saving the money and just installing the hand lift.

do you use the downward pressure when cultivating with the TC? I know you're supposed to let most implements dig under their own weight, but not sure about the cults.

cubs dont have power to put down pressure on them!---if cultivator is working properly you actually need to hold UP pressure to keep them from going in too deep! ( at least on mine that is the case) thanks; sonny
