Need Help Identifying Two Auction Items

Postby alfreema » Sat Feb 08, 2014 9:13 am

Have a couple questions about some items coming up for sale at a local auction. Sorry the pictures are small, but it's all he has posted.

Is there any chance these are original Cub seats (he selling the whole stack and so far there are no bids)?

Using Google, best I can tell this is a Ferguson two-bottom plow, but thought I'd ask the experts here to make sure it isn't a Cub friendly two bottom plow:

Seat on top is not a cub seat. Can't tell about the bottom one. I can't identify the plow. It won't be cub friendly

It doesn't appear that the seat on top is a Farmall Cub or a Cub Cadet seat. I could be wrong, but don't remember either of them having ventilation holes thru the pan. Can't see what the other seats in the stack look like.

The plow appears to be a 3-point set up, so like you said, may fit a Ferguson or similar tractor with 3-point hitch. IMO not viable for a Farmall Cub.

Hope this helps.

The seat is typical for horse drawn equipment, and if cast, fairly collectible if it includes brand name. If stamped metal just so, so on value. Teh plow appears to be a 3pt hitch, and if 2 bottom, about twice what a cub can handle.

Nothing to add on the seats. I think you're right on the plow, Ferguson. It's only use for a Cub would be as a hitching post. You might be able to pull it if the plow is on a trailer.

Interesting. The auction indeed has a ton of horse stuff. You probably nailed it. :)

Also, there is an 8' brush hog and a 6' brush hog. I think that's it for tractor stuff though.

Taking a second look, the bottom seat appears different, as if it has a crimp around the edge to hold cover on it. May be something there.
