I am wanting to get the headlights functioning on my Cub, but have a few questions. I believe it to have the original headlights minus the wiring. Plus...my tractor has been converted to 12 volt.
Do they have replacement kits that include the bulb assembly and wiring available or am going to need to start looking for whole light assemblies?

Re: Original headlight repair
If the guts are inside all you need is 12V bulbs. Sorry, I don't know the bulb number but somebody will chime in shortly with it.
Your original headlight switch will work fine on 12V. Just run a wire from it out to the headlights. The lights ground through the mounting, there's a copper tab inside that goes from the reflector to the bucket, then it grounds to the mouning bolt, the mounting arm, the hood, dash/dog legs/radiator brackets to the engine/torque tube and back to the ground cable attached to the battery.
Here's a picture from TM's website (Site Sponsor link at the bottom of the page) showing the headlight assembly.

Here's another option to consider, not original but better light and with 12V's you should be fine on amperage.
http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=140&t=70780I think the comparable 12V bulb is a 4411.

Re: Original headlight repair
When I converted mine to 12 volts, I used original housings.
I used a 1156 bulb, works good but not that bright.
I think 1141 is the other number.

Re: Original headlight repair
Once you get the light apart you may find that all it needs is a good cleaning and a new bulb.
If TM is out, you can also get parts from americantractorlights.com

Re: Original headlight repair
My local Tractor Supply has new sealed beam lenses in both 6 and 12 volts. They fit perfectly in my Super A, I don't know if the sizing is different on a Cub though.

Re: Original headlight repair
You can also get the bulb bases new from Napa (can't remember the number). That is the wire, spring, and the contact for the bulb. I've also seen the outer connectors on eBay
