I got a faked Ebay item

Postby rjfcsa » Mon Jun 09, 2014 7:23 pm

Hello all,
I am writting this so you all may beware of this Ebay seller, mrjents
I just got this item off ebay today, item 231244737926
I did not think the picture was the best so I took a chance on it  . I opened it today and well it is just a fake  :x , a bad one at that. The plastic cover is new not scratched. The rusty ring on the back is the only old looking piece on it. I popped it apart and the inside pieces are new you can tell the mirror is new. I know it is not a lot of money just rather aggravating.
Me and my sister like collecting just about anything cub, I like more paper goods and see like these trinkets. We were thinking of making some buttons like the originals, to wear at shows, but I was going to add to the edge of the picture the letters FAUX or COPY. so they could only be sold as copies.
Oh well just kind of venting. I looked as the seller other items and he has had 3 or 4 other pocket mirrors same size and condition just different subjects, as well as some buttons and they all look suspicious to me. I contacted the buyer to see what he will do. I told him I would rather throw it away than put it back into circulation but I would like my Money back. We will see.
Just thought I would caution you all.

yep been there. I got a rear rock shaft once on ebay that didn't have the center part to it. which made it useless. so off to the scrap pile it went.

I tend to steer away from ebayers whose descriptions go on and on about why they blah blah blah and use very little description

Complain to the seller.... and then to eBay if that doesn't work. Seems 'vintage' is the key here.

I like his statement at the end about how much of a pain it is to ship "YOUR" item.

If his "making" these mirrors with the IH logo and selling them, he is violating Case/IH's trademark. Don't ask me how I know
