Fast hitch sprayer

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Fast hitch sprayer

Postby Slim140 » Wed Feb 13, 2019 8:48 am

I been wanting to make a FH sprayer to use behind the Cub or 140. Stopped at a friends last week and he had this 30 gallon plastic drum and gave it to me. I’m gonna install a 12V electric pump on it and the hitch on the back is for the spray boom I use behind the lawn mower. It’s 8’ wide and I use it to spray our driveway. I want to spray our deer plot and the 15 gallon sprayer on the mower doesn’t last enough to do the whole field and the mower is so low. Brought the 3 pt to FH adapter in so I can put the stabilizer brace on for the hitch.

Ready for paint and a pump. Putting the bung in the bottom through the top bung was fun.

Got the pump mounted and the boom from the lawn mower, it’s 10’ wide and I made it spring loaded in case I hit something. May spray next week, don’t know yet. Guess I’ll use the ford this go round.

Looks like if you turned the boom 90 degrees, it would use much less storage space by having the arms fold upward.

It has a piece of 2" square tubing on it and slides in a receiver. I hang it on the wall when not in use.

Be careful when using the sprayer, Shane. Use when there's a breeze in your face to minimize contact with the mist.

Here’s the hitch on the boom. It’s adjustable up and down for the lawn mower.

Thanks for the reminder, none of that stuff is good for us.
