Re: Kansas Turkey Hunt
Is that you in the video?
Going off the spur and beard length, I'd say it was a nice 2 year old tom. Don't know exactly where you were hunting, but a lot of territory in mid-and-western Kansas has a mix of Eastern and Rio sub-species turkeys. When he was strutting, you could definitely see the white edges on his tail feathers, but your close-up (when he was wet), the tips looked more buff colored.
Nothing like being out pre-dawn and hearing those gobblers sounding off from the limb. CONGRATULATIONS!!

Re: Kansas Turkey Hunt
Stanton - Yes, that's me... We were hunting in the Northwest Kansas, didn't see any Easterns but saw one group that looked more like Merriams, really white on the edges. I'm used to hunting Easterns in Missouri which is a way different experience, really enjoyed Kansas.
