Postby tractorfan1 » Fri Aug 17, 2007 8:05 pm

Howdy fellas!

I bought a 182 CC, and would like some info. Who made it for IH? How many HP? How do I find out the year? Is carb kits still available? TIA!

The 182 is a lawn tractor made 1982-84 by CCC as IH wasn't making any tractors in 82. The engine is a 8 HP B&S.
The Cub dealer has it marked as NLA but it might be available through a Brigg's dealer.
Part ID: BS-491590
Description No Longer Available
Qty:
Unit Price
126.94
The Geezer from IHregistry.com which crashed and is now Cub Cadet Collectors.

Thanks for the info! Was CCC still part of IH when this mower was built? Or was it after they sold it to MTD? Thanks.

Neither, CCC was it's own company till they were bought by MTD. I don't know how long CCC actually was producing Cadets till MTD bought it. but MTD made IH engineered tractors for a couple of years.

Cub Cadet Corporation (CCC) was incorporated on June 1, 1981 as a wholly owned subsidiary of MTD, and was never owned by, or a part of, IH. CCC was owned by MTD from the begining. IH sold the Cub Cadet line in June 1981, but their last Cub Cadets and Cadet lawn tractors and riders were built in April 1981.

Thanks for the added info guy's! What I don't understand is why they were marketed as IH when it was made by CCC. Which was not part of IH. Why did they badge them as IH?

Because they were sold by IH ag dealers until the ag division of IH went out of business in 1985. There were Cub Cadet dealers that were not IH dealers, and they sold yellow and white versions of the tractors. After IH went out of business (the truck line became Navistar International and is still in business), then all the Cub Cadets were painted yellow and white.
