B.L.,
If you're sure of the year, it's an F-Cub. The other models were introduced much later. George Willer

Hey B.L. Welcome to the board. First thing you should do is read the announcement at the top of the posts. "New Members Info". Plenty of info you can get there and from the home page "Cub Info" and "H.L. Chauvin". As George says, if you know the serial # is a 1950, it's definately an F-Cub.

B.L. At the top of the forumn is a new mwmbers should read post. It contains links to several pieces of info including a cub faq that shows pics and lists serial numbers. http://www.atis.net/CubFAQ/cub_faq.html

Hey B L,
Welcome I don't know your experience level with mechanics and CUB tractors especially but I would like to share some advise that I was given and from experience found very useful. If you plan on keeping the tractor for your personal use I would suggest, that you look for the nearest Case IH dealer and purchase two books. The complete parts manual and the service manual [not the owners manual], though it is very helpful and you may want to buy later. Most tractor parts dept. will certainly appreciate you having the parts numbers handy and many will let you call in, FAX, or even e-mail in your order. I have also found that on small parts they will mail directly to your house. The two books I mentioned are invaluable in your repairs and helping you to see how the parts fit together and operate. I personally think you have made a wise choice in the 1950. I have four of them all will run though not likely to win a race. The first one I purchased is in buckets, boxes and on shelves. I just came in from the tractor shed from some more major dismantling. Enjoy tht little '50 given the respect they deserve and they will give you many days of enjoyment. You too may become a "CUBaholic". B L, you will find that the people on this site are all friendly, helpful, aare truly CUB enthusiast and a pure delight to know.

Ditto on the welcome to the Forum and to the world of Cubs. Ifn you do not have a CaseIH dealer close to you, you can visit Binder Books and purchase the following manuals: GSS-1411 Service Manual TC-37F Parts Manual Owner's Manual Russ is correct, but I much prefer using the owner's manual for general servicing as it is much clearer and everything is in the same 3 or 4 pages. Either way, these manuals are a must have for anyone wishing to maintain, repair and/or restore their Cub. I have absolutely no aptitude for mechanics - period, in my estimation, but with the knowledgeable help from the CUB Pros's here on the board I have managed to get my Ellie-Mae running like a top! As will you In the interim until you have your own manuals, please feel free to browse the offerings on the Manual Server. Click the link below.
