I've been trying to figure out the front bracket ever since they put it up. Looks like right spacing for a vehicle tow bar. Now thats scarry. Noticed the bungee strap holding the front of the hood, and no radiator cap, or exhaust pipe. Wonder now much water is in the engine and block (frozen?).

i'm close by. sent him an email, asking to look at it. see what it is, anyway. even Ebay can't make it bring 3K in it's present condition.

talked to the guy. he says the old guy it was bought from worked for a dealer in PA in 1949. tractor arrived at dealership in 49 white, did showroom duty for 1950, returned to IH for painting (red) and was purchased by this employee. brought to CT shoreline area and transferred to current owner a short time ago. guy says the books and internet sites are all wrong.

raining hard today, no good for looking in an old barn.

there's also 2 'H, a super a, 2 more cubs, a low boy, and 2 super c's for sale.

went there today s/n 93584. this guy apparently buys and sells. tractor was 'just arrived'. couldn't find any white under hood, or anything to support an actual demo. red shows under the white in places.

casting codes support october 1949, looks like it was RED, painted at some point white, and repainted several times since. front end, spindles and steering arms, hood, gas tank, one final, drawbar, and radiater all junk, besides the usual seat/battery box/grill/dog legs/tool box etc.

is it a demo???????????? i think i'll paint pete white sn119306, too
