1946 Farmall H What Does This Control Do?

I'm looking at a nice '46 "H" and there is a control that I can't figure out, and the guy selling it can't remember what it does. It's on the right side of the transmission, an arm around 12-inches long connected to a pull rod going back to the operator position. Does it control the hydraulics? How does $1,750 sound; it runs great, tight steering, smooth/quiet transmission & clutch, no seal leaks, good brakes, and good electric. New rubber on rear, OK front rubber. It could use a fresh paint job, but no rust and strait tin.

Tom, that is the hydraulic control arm.
The price doesn't sound too bad if you consider the cost of new rear tires. You might try a counter offer anyway. You might get it a cheaper.

I figure the guy that sold me my H had about $800.00 in new rear tires and tubes.Got it for $1,500.00 with a brush hog.Mower has all ready paid for itself and the rest is not far behind.Wish I had a pole barn,garage is getting small with it back inside!!! Kevin

Thanks for the replies. I just gotta make up my mind. The H needs a good paint job, but otherwise seems in good shape, has brushed on paint on the tin. But he has a yellow Cub he'll wants for $1,750 as well, have to see it yet . . . . decisions.

A year ago I would have felt that was too much. Now it seems like a pretty reasonable price.

Sounds like a fair deal to me!---Depending on what size tractor you need/want-----I would seriously consider the yellow cub!!!---just my .02!! lol1 thanks; sonny
