Pink Cubs??

Postby Olred » Tue Nov 01, 2011 9:05 pm

Well I have been contracted to do some paint work on a cub for a friend of mine. there is only one request......There has to be PINK! that's right HOT PINK somewhere on the tractor. So are there any pics of pink cubs out there? I am looking for Ideas and its a surprise :D the cub is a 1951, im leaning toward doing most of the tractor IH red and then doing a pink and IH white stripe on the doglegs/hood. We shall see how this goes....and to think i dont even have it running yet

Pink fenders would be a nice touch (for the little lady)!

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Is the pink for breast cancer, or just powder puff type for a young lady?

a little lady, she just wants a pink tractor LOL but because she thought of this after we started with red I am thinking about just doing some pink and white accents here and there. I think the whole tractor in pink is just a little much

You might just do the hood and fenders, aka the sheet metal parts. That way if / when she is tired of the pink, those parts are easy to remove and shoot red. You probably ought to make up some color tabs with the IH red on them, and go to a store to look at the different shades of pink. There are some that will likely look really good, and others that will look horrible. I would not just go and grab "hot pink" and start shooting it. There is just way too much prep work necessary for something to not come out good.

This is my SA, and I must say it was only the primer and was SUPPOSED to be covered with red shortly after the pink primer was applied. Due to red paint color mismatch, it wasn't painted for almost a week, and was quite a source of humor for the rest of the shop!!! :big smile:
