1650 mower deck belt

Ordered a new mower deck belt tonight....IH-117465-C1. They are PRICEY. However, I only got a year out of a Gates green belt I bought last year, and today I figured out why. The belt I had been using was a 1/2 inch belt, not a 3/8. I have looked high and low for a 3/8x79 inch belt for this tractor (79 w/ 50A deck). It does not exist in the aftermarket world as far as I can find. I understand that Gates actually makes these belts for Cub Cadet, but they must not sell one under their brand name. Anyway, thought someone might find this info useful.

Who did you order it through? Local Case-IH dealer says the part number is obsolete and they can't get it. Local Cub dealer can't find anything using that part number hasn't had any luck looking it up on size 3/8X79.

I understand that Gates actually makes these belts for Cub Cadet

Try an A series Gates belt. They are 1/2" but for my 104 with a 42" deck they work great, last a long time and are not expensive. They have the correct pitch and depth to run a long time, the 1/2" width seems to fit the 104's pullys just right.
