I looked at a restored Farmall H a few years back and the owner had plumbed the exhaust with 2 90 degree elbows just out of the hood going straight down, then to a 45 degree elbow angled back, then the factory muffler. It basically pointed the muffler to the bottom of he rear tire. I asked why he did such a thing. I was told this was the way many tractors were designed so they were able to operate under the tobacco netting.
