Gear reductionBeing a bit new on the A, Super A side, I was wondering if there is a gear reduction unit for an A, Super A like on the Cub. Thanks. My AV is a bit quick even in first gear and boy, does it fly in 4th!!
Re: Gear reductionIt's the 36" tires that are causing it to be so quick.
Not aware of a speed reducer like the ones installed for the Howard Rotovator, for the A, though. Not saying they don't exist, just that they're probably even rarer than the Cub units.
Re: Gear reductionHoward made a Reduction gear and a Rotovator for the SA. I have only seen them in their literature but never in person. I have one for a cub with the original brochures. Good luck trying to find one but it does exist

Re: Gear reduction
I've never seen anything in print for an SA. Great to know. Thanks
Re: Gear reductionI will try to (remember) to take what I have to work and scan it and post. I will try my best.

Re: Gear reductionThere is a wealth of Rotavator information scanned and in the (New) Manuals section. http://www.farmallcub.com/fcman/index.php?dirpath=./files/OEM%20Implement%20and%20Attachment%20Manuals%20and%20Brochures/Howard%20Rotavator&order=0
Bob, if you bought your unit in Western Mass, I already scanned the manuals.
Re: Gear reductionThe 140 had a couple variations. Not sure if they were offered during the Super-A production.
