Almost 2 weeks since my Complete Left Hip Replacement, and am doing fine. It still hurts to sit in a hard chair, so my computer time has been limited. I miss chatting with others in the chat room the most. My physical TERRORIST (Therapist) is great, tough but very thorough. I am a few days to a week from ditching the walker, and going with a cane. Almost all the soreness is gone, just bone pain and that is getting less each day. I am just a couple days shy (Wednesday the 12th) from being 2 weeks post op. I just thought I would drop a note and say 'Hey, to all my friends. Dale

Dale, glad to hear you're doing better. You'll be amazed at how much better you feel in just a short time. I had a THR 3 years ago and I never even gave it a thought after a couple of months.

Yup Ricky, this is #2 for me. My Dr did the other one 10 yrs ago come March. The first was Ceramic Cup and Ball. I was 41 yrs old and 390LB so they put the best available in me due to age and size. 'Spose to withstand 17000 lb of pressure and never wear out. This one is ceramic ball and space age polymer. 90% better than the old plastic, and infused with vitamin D. By going with the 1 piece plastic cup, he could give me a larger base, thus a larger ball, compared to a metal base with ceramic cup insert. I am 10 years older and over 100lb lighter, so he is confident in the outcome. You have to marvel at the technological advances and modern day science.

Dale,
Great news. Keep the healing going.

Glad to hear it Dale. If your "physical TERRORIST (Therapist)" is doing their job it WILL hurt. You can either hurt now or hurt forever. At least thats what mine said and I'm not hurting now. You will do fine...attitude has a whole lot to do with your recovery. God speed. Grump

Glad to hear it Dale. I believe those physical therapists are part medical practitioners, part magicians. When my dad broke his arm and lost a finger in '10 I really had doubts he would ever be able to use his arm & hand much again. He did what the PT said, and his recovery was remarkable. He said it hurt but he could see his progress and I think that helped. Today he's short a finger, and has to be a little bit careful what he does with that arm, but he is able to use it about like he wants to.

Dale there was no question in my mind of you having complete success. I have seen your stick to itness in the past and know you will continue so. I had an aunt wit two hips and a knee. I danced with Aunt Elanore on her 95th birthday. No i don't expect to ever dance with you.
