Stainless Emblem Clip Size & Where to Buy in Bulk
Does anyone know where to get the stainless emblem barrell clips in bulk ? I would like to buy around 100 of them to have on hand when I fix up tractors and several people have asked me for some too. I would like to be able to have plenty of them to give out and to replace. Steiner Tractor has them for $1.00 each and I figured some of you guys know of a generic source cheaper than that.
I know the Cubs have the 1/8 inch studs. I am also getting ready to paint a Farmall 230. Does it have the 1/8 inch studs as well? These barrell clips should be something common in the auto industry.....at least I would think so.

Those things are called "Push nuts" and should be available at any good old-time hardware store or industrial fastener house. Fastenal, Ace Hardware, Titan Fasteners, etc. Take one with you if you can - they should be dirt cheap.

TM has them much cheaper. If the flat kind are okay, McMaster Carr has them in bulk.

The kind I am talking about are barrell shaped and push into the hole on the hood first, then the emblem pushes into the clip forming a tight connection.
I think the flat push nut clips could be used in this case, but the connection of the emblem to the hood would be a little loose in the hood hole. See what I am saying?

Thanks Don. Hopefully I can find them cheaper although that is half the cost of Steiner. Buying in bulk, they'd still be close to $50 for 100.
Thanks Rob. See what you can dig up. Let me know where you got yours too. I'm hoping the stud on the Farmall 230 emblems is a 1/8 inch stud too.

I found my pack of clips, they are sold thru W-E sales co. The part number is 99-876. Its called a tubular clip 1/8 stud for a ford and chrysler. If you have an auto body supply store near you they may carry that line. You could also check eastwood company.

t
Just another option...
Mcmaster Carr
Locking grommet 5269T11 (if the hood holes are 3/16" ? ) 100 pcs./$5.00
Along with push rings 94807A024- 200 pcs./$9.51
I used the push rings(different than push nuts) very happy with them. I don't remember my emblems being that loose, but that's where the grommets would help.

Re: Stainless Emblem Clip Size & Where to Buy in Bulk
oh wow! thank you Brewzalot. I just looked at those and really like that they're nylon. They look like they'll work well. I ordered a couple packs of them and the push rings. Hopefully they'll hold up and be more of a cushioned fit than the steel ones so the stress is taken off the emblem pin.

Re: Stainless Emblem Clip Size & Where to Buy in Bulk
Because they are fairly inexpensive, if you need to remove the push rings I carefully sand/grind them off with a right angle grinder or Dremel tool.
They're thin so it doesn't take much and there's less chance of breaking off the emblem studs trying to pry them off.
good luck
Tim
