How would you Remove this Continental Belton Mower?

Postby buddylindsey » Sat Apr 27, 2024 9:56 pm

So I have this continental belton mower that is pretty rare, and it fills in under the cub pretty well.

I want to remove it so I can better work on the cub.

Anyone have any ideas on how to remove it?

The only thing i can think is pop the top off drop everything to the ground and drive over it?

Attached is some pictures to hopefully help show some of the dimensions of everything.

If you have a hoist with enough capacity to lift the front of the cub you can raise it enough to slide the mower out the front. If you don't want to lift it that high you can lift it a few inches, then take the tractor front wheels off and slide the mower forward to clear the front of the tractor. If you don't have a hoist an overhead beam, an "A frame" or a sturdy tree limb properly braced will support your chain fall or come-a-long. Take into account any mechanical failure of a supported load and secure the load with a backup support (like a chain on each side). JMHO Stan

You're welcome, hope your repair goes smoothly. (I've used some strange contraptions before. Just be safe.) Necessity is the mother of invention!! :hattip:

Could you take the draw bar assembly off, block the front axle, lift either the right of left rear ,remove the rear wheel and slide it out sideways. Blocking it good so it doesn't move on you. That's what I probably would try.

I’d unhook the more and use couple of boards for ramps and back over the mower. Of course I’m not there looking at it in person and have never owned this brand, but that’s what I did with my woods 42 mowers and cub 22 mowers. Looks heavy duty enough to do it
