Broken raidiator overflow...
My raidiator was missing two bolts...decided to put two new ones in burning the process I got none in no problem....I snapped the other one off screwing it in and broke my raidiator overflow tube from the neck....I got all the old raidiator bolts loose so taking it off shouldn't be a problem and I should be able to easyout that snapped off bolt being that it's new....does anyone have a repair suggestion for the overflow tube???

Re: Broken raidiator overflow...
blow through it to make sure it is not plugged up also, you can just solder on a short piece and use the rubber hose to replace it

I got the raidiator off today...to my surprise there was no gasket under it. Just some rtv...you can the the broken bolt I'm pointing to...time to start drilling..the raidiator seems to be in pretty good condition though...still that brassy color on the bottom..

Use plenty of your favorite penetrant and maybe some heat before trying to drill out the bolt. Left hand drill bits are the tool of choice for that job.

As suggested... heat & LEFT HAND DRILL BITS. Available, among other places, at Harbor Freight.

Re: Broken raidiator overflow...
I feel your pain (BTDT with a head bolt). Unfortunately there's no easy solution to this problem but the bright side is you have easy access to work on it. Some heat with a torch is going to be the best approach then try welding a washer and then a nut on the broken piece. If that doesn't get it, with some luck the heat might remove some of the temper in the ez-out and you might be able to drill it. Good luck with your efforts. (I threw away my ez-outs.)Leewebb7 wrote:Well... I got the hole drilled....then snapped the easy out off in the hole.......

Re: Broken raidiator overflow...
Thanks Stan.... I may try making my own gasket....and not put a hole there...and see if it'll hold and not leak with some rtv....it's not like the raidiator is under alot of pressure...,I think with all the other bolts in it I don't think it will leak or anything.
