Cub oil filter

Postby DickB » Tue Nov 06, 2018 12:35 pm

I saw that I'm down to my last Fram C235 oil filter. I'll use it for my fall oil change. I bought a few at the TSC sellout. Now they seem to be out for good. Just bought 2 at Amazon at $6.50 each, and now the price there has doubled. A search on the local NAPA site didn't turn up the C235. So, what options do I have for accessing new oil filters? I bought Fram C235 because it was easily purchased locally. Other brands no doubt are fine. I've got a year and half before being out.

Dick, the NAPA # is 1153. Good filter complete with new gasket.

Depending on what's near you, and who sells what, the Wix # is 51153, which is a quality USA made oil filter, and includes the gasket. This is the same filter as the Napa #1153. Other options would be TM tractor. Might as well buy/order more than 1 at a time to help offset shipping costs.

And they were just on sale in my local NAPA store for less then $5. I bought 6 for my 3 cubs.

Ask your store to let you know when they go on sale.

How many hours is recommended between oil filter changes? Usually I drain the oil out of the filter with each oil change and change the filter every 2 years or so. Use synthetic oil and change it every 50 hours of operation.

Ted, it is 150 hours under normal conditions.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
