Non-runner at auction near me

Postby Clubless » Wed Dec 12, 2018 11:10 am

Saw this non-runner Cub up for auction at upcoming estate sale next week, thought I would post some pictures for you guys to comment on. I hope to go look at it this weekend. Looks like it has sit out in the weather for some time. I'm thinking maybe somewhere between $350 - $500.

What do y'all think?

Thanks,
Gary

Even if it cannot be saved, it is worth way more than that in parts alone.

It does not look bad to me. Bring a hand crank and see if the engine is free.

I do not know cultivators but you could sell them for close to what you are paying for the tractor. rubber looks ok to good

I hope you can get it that low at an auction.

I think you and Tom Coffey are going for the same tractor.
Try to agree to not bid against each other! :||):

Good idea to take a trailer. If you don’t you may wish that you had.

It only takes two people to have an bidding war (aka, auction). Now, with all this advertisement, there may be more bidders show up...never know.

In Missouri/Kansas auctions, if that non-runner brought anything higher than $400, the bidder should walk on by.

I saw this tractor listing last week and was trying to keep it quiet :D
I always tell people I have no friends at an auction, I bid against my wife once  She wanted some dishes and when they finally got around to them I started bidding on them not paying attention to who I was bidding against on the other side of the trailer and the auctioneer actually stopped and said "aren't you 2 together?"

If you want something at an auction, set your limit and bid. If it goes over your limit it wasn't meant to be. After all, it is a public auction. I've had friends bid against me, I've let friends buy stuff cause I didn't want to bid against them. Looking back, I should have bid

What Shane and Stanton mentioned above is why some tractor sites do not allow links to Craig's List ads, Ebay auctions, and other other auctions such as this.

Reminds me of a hot July auction last summer about 2 hours drive from us. The sale bill had a Farmall Cub trailer listed as a "utility trailer", so thought I'd be able to pick it up cheap, if no one else knew what it was. Got there, waited around in the heat all blessed day, then got out-bid on the trailer. At this time, my wife was somewhere else on the site. Two rings that day, so I walked back over to the other ring and they were getting ready to sell several sets of commercial grade stainless steel wire shelving. We had talked earlier in the day how I needed shelving in the new barn. I didn't see my wife anywhere around, bidding commenced, but some other bidder was running me up more than I liked, so I dropped out, thinking, "I wouldn't pay that!"

"Sold!" barked out the auctioneer...crowd cleared a little to see the winning bidder...my wife. Bless her anyway! We took home 5 shelving units that day, all at a price I wouldn't pay!

I find that if I bring the trailer, I never need it.
