Sim All weather cab

Postby inairam » Sun Feb 17, 2019 4:52 pm

I am looking at a loboy and part of the deal is a Sim All weather cab. Glass window and windshield wiper canvas sides. I did not see it on the tractor but the seller says it is all there. He says he took it off because he is too big for it.

Canvas needs work/ replacing of course. I have seen them in photos. I have seen homemade cabs in person. This is better looking even with the canvas shot.

How practical are they? Are they worth the effort of putting them on in the winter for snow detail and storing them over the summer? In SE PA we have our cold weather but not like other places. It may make plowing at night a great deal nicer

Peter

Get it!!!! I hunted for 12 years to find one, took the ferry out of New London to Long Island on a business trip and took a detour on the way back to the ferry. $500, vinyl doors were in tough shape but good enough for a pattern. Has a wiper and safety lights. Have not mounted it but I can see how it would be warm in the cab. I have all the mounting brackets but have not put it on. I have been hunting for the Sims Install Manual for a long time.

You see these pop up every blue moon, you will not regret it. I will post pictures tomorrow of the cab and mounting brackets.

Good luck
Chris

I was looking at the loboy for the sheet metal for a 57 regular cub. It has the best 11 bar grill I have ever had a shot at getting. Everything else in the deal I have except for the cab. The loboy was his grandfather's purchased new and in better shape than the pictures so not sure I can call it a parts tractor. Basically, i would be buying the cab, the grill and hood and trying to decide what to do with everything else
