DRILL PTO BUSHING out

Postby Command52 » Tue Mar 12, 2019 8:05 pm

Am i correct by saying i need to drill the pto bushing hole out using a 7/16 drill bit the outer edge of the hole is a little rough so i would like to run a bit in the whole without over sizing it . Would 7/16 be the exact size Thanks Billy

I recently cleaned out the remnants of a bushing with a 7/16" tap and then cleaned/polished the hole with emery cloth wrapped around a 3/8" bit. A 7/16" drill bit should do the same thing as long as you have a steady hand or drill press.

Using a method recommended by Bob McCarty I installed the new bushing using the PTO, block of hard wood and hammer.
