Re: Demo Fast hitch
Fast hitch didn't come out to around 1955, I believe. Someone here can correct me if I'm wrong, but I do know it was in the mid-50s.

Re: Demo Fast hitch
Hi,
The Fast Hitch came out in late 1954 on Cubs, at serial number 185001.
The Fast Hitch was made by IH, and was an extra cost option.
Below are pics of one in the 1955 Cub owner's manual.

It's personal preference, a Cub is a Cub to me. It doesn't matter if it's red, white, yellow, demo, longstripe, no stripe, if you can't use it what good is it?

Re: Demo Fast hitch
Since the Cub you have has been modified, even if you could prove that it was originally a "demo" Cub the collector value has been lost. Unless you have all the original parts to restore it to its "demo" configuration. Since we know that it has been modified, most likely the white paint job is not original either. It would be like buying an "original" Model T Ford with a 428 Cobra Jet engine in it, and still claiming its an antique collectable.

Re: Demo Fast hitch
It has been pretty well established that not all tractors built during the January to March 1950 demo time were actually painted white by the factory. Some of the tractors from that time can be verified as originally red or white. Either they have never been repainted or there is unquestionable evidence of original paint in multiple places on the tractor. Can evidence of original color, either red or white, be found on your tractor?
