Throttle linkage pin, what’s it called?

Well, some idiot was working on my carburetor in the garage this afternoon and managed to lose the pin that connects the throttle linkage to the governor arm on the carburetor side. You know, the little pin that goes through The carb linkage on the front end of the tractor, the one that you could spin around on the threaded rod to adjust the Lanks? It has a tiny little cotter pin that goes through it to hold it in place… The idiot mentioned above didn’t put the cotter pin in and the pin worked it’s way loose and fell out somewhere in the yard. I can’t seem to locate this damn thing in a Google search, so I figure I am searching for the wrong name or whatever. Where can I get one?

Clevis pin. Get one at the hardware store.

Well, I’d say that depends on your hardware store. I’ve never found one locally that has one that diameter and length. Find plenty that are right diameter that have to be cut to length.

Cut a bolt, drill a hole and use a new cotter pin.

No trip to the hardware store needed.

An appropriate diameter nail will work too, but may rust since it is not zinc plated. If you have a local farm and fleet they should have assorted diameter clevis pins as well.

I've had them with a bolt and 2 nuts to lock each other so it could be free. Could also use a bolt with a locknut if no pin is readily available.

At that price, I always buy 25. Those little buggers come in handy for other projects as well.

thats funny, I have found those finishing nails and hairpins in several areas of my tractors. Old ones too so whatever works!
