After selling two cubs and buying two 140’s and then selling the Cub I had put up I said no more Cubs. Well.......here’s the latest, a 1975 model someone painted red. I’ll go fetch it next week, it’s only 3 miles from the house. Bought as a non runner and the price reflected that :{_}:

Hi,
The Cub looks good in the pics. :)

Looks like it has a mower with the older guard over the belt.
In the mid 1950's or so, they changed to a guard that covered the upper part of the belt and upper pulley, and attached to the transmission housing with 2 bolts.

The pic is a little hard to see, it looks like the front part of the mower is yellow, but the rear pulley is blue. Maybe the whole mower is blue.
If they are original paint, the yellow parts are newer than the blue parts.
They quit using the blue when the yellow and white Cubs came out, in 1964, I think.

A Lo-Boy with a sickle mower, nice. I'm not seeing any yellow showing where there are scratches or flaking in the paint. I read somewhere that every now and then a factory red 1975-79 Cub shows up. Maybe?

It’s an F-Cub, not a loboy. There is some yellow showing in a couple places but you can’t see them in the pictures.

Ok, now why the heck did I think it was a Lo-Boy? Ah, the deluxe seat and bent gear shift threw me.

It was sheltered , that'a a bonus.

Might be an obligation on your part to rescue reasonably intact Cubs that need attention. What if you didn't? (Shudder.)

Hi,
The Longstripe Cubs began at serial number 248125, and have a Delco alternator, and Zenith carburetor.

It looks like in one pic above that the Cub has an IH carburetor. :)

That’s the same number Brad and I talked about.

Congrats on the Cub.

As others have said, the exterior looks to be in good shape. I have no doubt that whatever is preventing it from running will soon be corrected.

It’ll be a few weeks before I get this one home. This is the man I bought the first 140 from (Norman, his dads tractor), a good friend. Where it’s parked it has to come out where all the hay is sitting. His mom isn’t doing good and he’s having to care for her and his cows, and he’s self employed so he told me it would be a few weeks before he digs it out. I told him no problem just let me know when to bring the trailer and winch. I’m excited to be getting a later model.
