Today, provided my back cooperates, I'm going to disassemble the PP and compare parts/pieces. I'll keep you informed.
Thanks for the responses, much appreciated and very helpful.

Re: I've got a clutch problem - Update
Hi,
You said Cub has the external free play adjustment.
Below are pics from TM Tractor of the parts used with that style of adjustment, serial number 32229 and above.

Below are pages from the Cub parts manual showing the 2 different clutch throwout bearing holders and parts. The clutch pedal lever, IH calls it, is shown that goes on the pedal inside the housing. It is number 4 in the pic. They are showing that it goes on the pedal facing like it is in the pic.

Re: I've got a clutch problem - Update - Final Results
Folks,
The repaired Cub was delivered yesterday.
I wanted to post some pics of the PPs, but for now the process escapes me.
As you may recall, I used one broken PP assembly (the one on the Cub) and one I had on the shelf to make a useable one. Both were OEM (I assumed from appearances) Rockford units. After three splits, each unsuccessful in getting proper operation, I disassembled the pressure plate.
What I found was different part numbers on the part that goes against the clutch surface. There were four distinct numbers/letters in four separate locations. 1-C2223, REV2, 2, and B. The part number from the PP the Cub came with had the following numbers/letters: CL-6760 and 2 in two locations.
Fortunately, I had another used PP assembly on the shelf with the correct numbers. Buffed up the surface, installed and set the fingers at 1 1/8” and put the Cub back together. SUCCESS!!!! It worked as it should.
