Unknown Pulley

Postby FarmallAddict » Mon Apr 27, 2020 6:19 pm

This pulley was on our 1947 Cub when we had it restored. My dad wasn't sure what it was for. He was thinking it was used for a Sun Master mower they had but it's 7 3/4" in diameter. The manual I saw said the sun master had a 9" pulley. Maybe someone can enlighten me. The part number on the side is 1FB78.

I will make a second post with a view from the side if it will let me. The pulley seems in really good shape.

Side angle. You can see the holes drilled from the factory I assume to balance it.

Since I figured out how to post pictures that will fit the size limit here is the tractor with the cultivators on. Sorry for the low light it was taken last last summer.

Never seen one like that, but it will work on a woods 42 and probably others

Looks like a woods pulley to me---some of them were big and thats why cubs don't have enough power to run mowers. I dropped mine down a couple inches so the cubs could pull the mowers. blades run a little slower but cut just fine if you keep them sharp.

Excellent looking restoration there!

Not sure if you guys considered swapping the original gas cap for a newer version or not. They are free!

I actually do have one of the new style but I stick the old one on for pictures. Thank you for the complement!

That is very possible. The mower this went with was sold sometime in the 60s (probably) and we don't have any pictures of it. We don't know for certain what it was.
