Who rebuilds Carbs or sells rebuilt ones

Postby Waldoch » Sun May 17, 2020 5:56 am

I have a carb that has serious wallowed out inlet and read posts using JB weld to fix but would like to either heal coil or get a rebuilt one. There are some posts that date many years ago so info is probably dated. Do you know of guys that rebuild and do a super job? I don't want to go the Chinese route on a new one and can't afford to buy a new one. My dad had this tractor and I am trying to get her going again. Hope it is ok to ask this question. :tractor:

I use Mike Finch in michigan. You can PM me for his contact info. His carbs are remanufactured no just rebuilt with a kit. Every feature inspected and redone if necessary. I have a few of his that are spares. PM me

Why is there never enough time to do the job right, but always enough time to do it over. :?:

I have two cubs with 40 dollar Chinese carbs from amazon. I had to adjust the floats in both But other than that they have both performed perfectly. I hate to have Chinese parts on my tractors but the one original carb I have needs to have the top flattened, the inlet threads repaired, and the needle, seat and float replaced and then my second cub which was put together from parts tractors had no carb at all. I’ll get the original fixed at some point but the two I bought cost about the same as the cost to fix the one original carb

I tried an Ebay cheapo just as an experiment after reading a few posts about them. Tractor ran good right out of the box with minor adjustments.

You can get the Chinese carbs for half of that price, was this one a different quality one? I would assume it's just out of the same factory and it just came from a more expensive source with far greater markup? I may be wrong though.
