Woods mower mounting
Looking for correct way to mount woods mower to the rear of my loboy using these triangular plates. How do they attach to the chassis and do the plates belong between the mower arm forks?

I can take better pictures if you need them. You can download the manual. It’s pretty good.

This pic is from the Woods 59 manual but should be the same for the 42.

Re: Woods mower mounting
I dont see how to get my idler pulleys a little more forward so they are at 90 degrees to the pto pulley which doesnt go back any further. You can see its off and slipps off the pto pulley easily. The plate doesnt fit when flipped over. So thats not the fix. Any ideas? Also how do I keep the belt from slipping off when I raise the mower slightly?

Not familiar with this mower, but something doesn’t look right with the idler plate where it mounts to tractor

Re: Woods mower mounting
Looks like there is something on the backside of the plate causing some interference issues. Note that where the plate is around the PTO shaft, there is a noticeable difference in how proud it stand from top to bottom. Appears to be less at the bottom, thus pushing the idlers further back. I hope this makes sense, I know what I'm trying to explain but I may have done it poorly.

Re: Woods mower mounting
Just an observation. Turn the plate that holds the pulleys around. It should move your pulleys forward just a bit so that when the belt comes off the pto pulley it comes down straight rather than angled back.
It seems that the the pulley arms should come straight down in the back so the pulleys sit in front rather than behind.
Again just my observation from your pics. My set up on my 59C is totally different.

Why is there never enough time to do the job right, but always enough time to do it over.

Re: Woods mower mounting
Disregard my previous. After looking at the pics again l realize that flipping the plate would probably angle them wrong.

Re: Woods mower mounting
I just spent an hour looking at all the Woods manuals in the PDF Manuals section. All of the 42 and 59 LoBoy versions listed have a vertically mounted mule drive bolted to the PTO. The one shown in the photos is angled. Is it possible that we are dealing with a mismatched combination of components here?

Here are the illustrations from the Lo Boy Woods 42 manual. I'm wondering if that pulley mount is homemade.

Re: Woods mower mounting
Is it possible that pulley mount is actually for an IH C-2 or C-3?

Re: Woods mower mounting
the mule drive you have is for an IH/Danco C2 or C3 mower, that is how it mounts for the C2 C3 so it probably does not line up with the woods setup

Idler pulleys do not look level in pics.
