I found a 189 plow, now I need some parts help.

I’ve been looking for a 193 or 189 since I got my cub, I found one 4.5 hours away via Facebook marketplace and went to get her yesterday!

It looks like I need some bolts and the latch bar and support assembly. Is that it? I have the drawbar on my cub already.

Well the plow is too large to be a 189 and is 16+ inches. Looks like it was converted from a super A per an older man that I get parts from.

looks like you do not have the depth lever for a 189, the one in the pic is for a 193

The parts pic for the depth adjusting lever is on page 19.

Below is a page from the 1949 Cub 193 Plow owner's manual, showing the depth control lever used with that plow. It looks like the same number pic on both pages, but it's sort of hard to see the number on the 189 page.
You can look through if you want, and compare all the part numbers for the parts of the levers.
I don't see what is different about them. I see the 189 lever has a shaft that goes to the left side.

The plow in your pics look like it has the optional extensions at the rear of the moldboards, I think they were optional.

OK, I hadn't noticed the addition to the first post. HOWEVER, I stick with my last comment. Those are CLEARLY Cub plow beams. The twist near the front of each is characteristic of a Cub plow. The Super A plow beams are quite straight at the front. Plow bottoms are interchangeable so 16" bottoms may have been swapped onto the Cub plow. In fact, I think the only parts of a Plow Chief bottom that change among 12, 14, or 16-inch bottoms are the moldboard and share.

Looking at the measurements what do you think? That length is what the gentleman referenced as being too large for the cub. He also referenced the welded on mounts.

I’m coming at this with zero experience and hope you guys are right. Is there a source for the 12” bottoms if it is a cub plow.

Lets make sure what you have first. What are the part numbers on your moldboards and shares? They should be cast or stamped into the back side of each part.

That is not how a a plow is measured! Length has nothing to do with it, your interested in width of cut. Measure from the rear tip of the share, crosswise to the landside.

I missed the second batch of pictures when I made my last post last might. Gary is absolutely right. I could read the part numbers on both plow shares in this morning's pictures. They are both 12-inch shares, one left and one right.

It looks like your parts man stirred up some concern over nothing.

Agreed. Maybe the moldboard is larger than normal? Is that possible?
