Anybody actually see/have a 252 or 447 cultivator?
New member here. I have a cultivator which I have been told is an early 252. The toolbar is rotated 45 degrees so it sets on the corner of the bar, not flat. 5 "S"shaped shanks with triangle shaped sweeps. I can't see any way to share a photo.

Hi,
Below is the Cub 252 Cultivator owner's manual, it has lots of info.
It can help you identify your cultivator.

I don't see a 447 owner's manual in the group of manuals at the top of the page, at Cub Info.

What would a 252 cultivator be worth? Can you build a functional equivalent using available materials? I don’t have one but am actively looking for one for a super a but suspect they are all similar

A 252 shows up once in a while, not very often. Here are a couple threads (note the dates!):

I think a 447 showed up at Cubarama one year.
Here is a discussion cultivator usage, mainly on row spacing, which may be of interest:

I was able to find what I believe is a a-452 - correction cub 252a based on bar length - It looks very similar to the posted picture but the bars are flat instead of standing on edge.

The Cub-252 and A-452 were both changed from on edge to flat, somewhere around '54 or '55. The two styles use different clamps for mounting the tools but are otherwise about the same. One of the threads I linked to in my earlier post has a picture of my Cub with an A-452 that has on edge bars.

How long are the tool bars? It may be a Cub-252A.
The 252 tool bars are 62". The 452 tool bars are 84" and 101" or 129" The 452 also has a pair of tie bars between the two tool bars.

Well it is a-452 missing the tie bars- I made the assumption it was 5’ but turns out it is 7’ and 7’8”. Was unable to edit above. Anyone know where to look for the bars?
