My 50 has what appears to be an electric pressure gauge screwed into the filter housing. It is the size of a "normal" gauge but just has a post on it no actual readable gauge. I'm thinking it was something to plug the hole. I am wondering if I can use a mechanical gauge I have off a 400 and could I just screw it into the hole. I know I could just try it but I thought I'd ask the experts.
Thank you

Re: Oil Pressure gauge
You can give the 400 gauge a try, if it will fit.
I would leave the plug in the hole and purchase a new gauge.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Oil Pressure gauge
If the 400 gauge has studs on the back for panel mounting, they may interfere with screwing it into the Cub location. It may also be a 0-75 pound gauge (don't know if it is), which could give an appearance of inadequate pressure.

Re: Oil Pressure gauge
Why not replace the plug with a proper gauge, instead of swapping a gauge from tractor to tractor?

Re: Oil Pressure gauge
I’d ditch the electric one and put in a stock mechanical oil pressure unit. Mine is the original and is going on 67 years.

Re: Oil Pressure gauge
Thanks for the input. I pretty much knew I should just get the correct part but I'm a tight a#! and was hoping to use some of my leftovers. It'll stay like it is until I get that 200.00 radiator I need. 1st things 1st
