That stainless deck is incredible.

I just took my Pennington off to attach the grader. Works beautifully after I rebuilt the spindles and put on new blades, better cut than a newer Husqvarna lawn tractor. I've got a thread around here with info on the spindle rebuild.

I agree, I wonder how long ago it was made and what the cost.
Maybe Shane Nelson has an idea on what it would cost these days.

The stainless deck may have been the result of the builders day job. Several people around here used to work at the Nestle research facility, seemed like they had stainless steel everything. I still see pieces of that stuff pop up occasionally.

This is embarrassingly simple. It doesn’t even require the dreaded Algebra.

Pennington parts list calls for 136 BCX belt (which I believe means a 139” belt). I find several 136 belts on the Gates website, but no BCX designation. I know the prefix/suffix indicates width and depth. Does anyone know the width/depth on the BCX? I realize I may need a different length but the other dimensions should be same.

I used a B136 from Gates ordered through Amazon as it was quite a bit cheaper than local stores had it. Worked well for both the Pennington and the IH C-2. I forget what bolt holes I used to attach the deck to the mule drive, but I think they were fourth from the back and gave good clearance from the rear wheels.

Sounds like a good place to start. Mine is fine now, but won't last forever.
