What are you using for plug wires? I understand you must use only copper wire, no resister wire.

Who installed the initial Pertronix ignition system? If the tractor sat for 25 years it should have had the points type ignition system.
Have you solved the low psi compression? My opinion, if not you are wasting your time and money.

My opinion again. Reinstall the points igniton system. Solve the problems cited in the above topic.

Re: Second ignition coil just went bad
I've had a 6v positive ground Pertronix ignition for almost 10 years now. Still has the same stock style coil, cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires from when I installed it. The only problem is the rubber grommet is starting to deteriorate.

Re: Second ignition coil just went bad
Let's see. Almost no compression, low fuel flow, new Chineese carburetor, two Pertronix systems, now two bad ignition coils.
What else could go wrong??????
Solve the compression problem FIRST. No compression, the best ignition and carburetion systems won't make the tractor run.
