I just picked up this mower from a friend (THANKS!) and wanted to confirm its ID. I am mostly familiar with Woods belly mowers. I guess it needs the PTO pulley...is it the same as the Woods?
Does it mount directly to the finals, or clamp onto the drawbar like the Woods?
Also, what does it use for a lift mechanism...bar like the Woods or a chain? (There is a chain there, so I assume that is what it uses)
Guestimate of it's value? Haven't even had time to check if it has blades or their condition, or whether the spindle is good! Thanks!

IH/Danco C-2. Chain lift. I'm sure there is a manual in the PDF Manuals. Can't comment on price for your area.

What Bob said.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Interesting color, looks like a pastel used on cars from the 50's. I wonder what the tractor looked like.

Agree with Bob. I’d ask the PO about the PTO pulley.

Re: Mower ID? for the Cub?
If no pulley available you can use the same one as the Woods 42, which is approximately 7-8" in diameter, Dale, if operating correctly, and assuming over-running clutch works, I think the value around us is similar to the Woods 42, so $250-$350 depending on condition. I have one that came with the son's tractor, but the deck cracked. and then warped when the crack was welded.

Re: Mower ID? for the Cub?
Dale,
The c-2 and the woods 42 are my favorite mowers for the Cub. They can go in the deep stuff and also give a nice finish cut on the lawn.
Make sure you grease the spindle and put some lube on the clutch.

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Re: Mower ID? for the Cub?
Thanks, guys! I'll check it out (blades, spindle, deck, etc), then decide whether to try it, or...
