Shifter fork not lining up
I replaced the 1st and reverse shifter fork in my 48 cub. Can’t get the forks to line up. Also had trouble aligning and screwing down the bolt on the fork. Not sure what is going on

Re: Shifter fork not lining up
Hi,
Have you shifted the 2 shifter shafts with a small bar or large screwdriver.
The 2 shafts should snap positively into 3 positions.
When both shafts are in neutral the forks should be aligned.

I’ll give it a try. It’s off just a little bit. Weird

slide the rails back and forth, just may have them out from each other, fork can only go on one way

It might be a trick of the photo, but the one on the left looks crooked on the rail.

Did you replace only the shifter fork? The two shafts are different.

Re: Shifter fork not lining up
10-4, look around to the side of the fork to see if one of the straps that wrap around the slider shaft has broken. A common problem. That would make the fork look crooked on the shaft.

Re: Shifter fork not lining up
My experience with shifter forks is the replacements available don't fit. I have ordered from several different vendors. Had to return all. Would not work. Part replacement from another tractor was my answer.
