Cub hydraulics problem
I have a ‘49 cub that I’m working on getting back together. Most all painted except for the hood and tank. New rings and gaskets and runs like a top but can’t get the lift to work. It was working fine before I drained the fluid and broke the tractor in half. Put it back together and fill with new oil. And it won’t lift. I’ve tried several suggestions from other forums but nothing. I have it apart again now waiting on my oil seal retainer and seal from Tim. Was wondering if there is anything I can do while I have it apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Larry

Re: Cub hydraulics problem
When mine did that I did the following with the engine shut off:
Loosened the bolts that hold the hydraulic lines to the pump. Pushed the edge of a plastic paint scraper between the flange on the lines and the pump to create a small gap, make sure you don't push in far enough to damage the o-rings.
Drank coffee until fluid began to drip. Remove paint scraper, tighten bolts. Fired up and had working hydraulics right away. Cycled the hydraulics 10 times to clear any remaining air.

You most likely have air in the system. Take the filler bolt out crank the tractor and cycle the system it should get the air out. You have refill the fluid level I hope.

Hi,
I posted info for filling and removing the air from the Touch Control, and an owner's manual for the Cub, at your other post that you made on 4/6.
