What is a 42" Woods mower worth?

I searched but most of the posts were 6 to 10 years old and as I don't think prices have changed much of all on this stuff I was searching a more current valuation.

I don't have pics, so I am not exactly sure of condition but I do know it works and has all gaurds and pulleys. It's on a tractor and now ready. I wouldn't say it's field fresh been sitting in a fence row for 50 years condition but I would also not say fully restored...as far as condition goes. What would be a fair guess as to price...yes I know condition is everything but as of right now I dont have pics.

Mowers are a special breed, because if you watch craigslist, prices are all over the map!

I do not know if the woods 42 is still available, but I did price one of the 59c models about 10 years ago. (Maybe 15!)

Back then a 59c set-up was around $1400!

Call a Woods dealer and ask about a 42c set-up just for fun!

In my opinion, woods 42 is the most useful mower for the cub. It can cut lawns and go into high grass and do a great job at both.

For a complete set up: pulley, mule gear, belt, deck with a working clutch assemble, skids that are in usable shape $300-350 in my area if you can find one that does not have a cub attached.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!
