Well my left rear tire bit the dust yesterday. I have been looking on Ebay (Simple tire And Priority tire, etc.) Can anyone recommend a brand? I prefer to buy anything but Chinese, but no info on country of manufacture. Is Carlisle still made in the U S?
Has 9.5-24 on now but I am looking to go 8.3-24. :thanx:

I would look locally for replacement rear tires. The shipping cost can be mighty hefty.

A lot of the tires ship free, that is what caught my attention. Even if I do buy local, I still would like to hear of experiences with brands.

Firestone, Titan, Good year.

Good year ag division is owned by Titan now.

Dont be afraid to ask country of origin!

It's probably been about 15 years since we bought rear tires for a tractor but ones on the Ford are Generals and they were made here. I also think Continental bought that division in the 80's so I don't know if that they are still making them here.

Firestone and Michellin are my preference on all my farm tractors. Both of my cubs came with new generic rears, to be honest I couldn't tell you the brand.

Unless you are doing some serious hard pulling with your Cub, such as plowing soil, you won't wear them out in 30 or 40 years.

As far as US made, many US brand name tires are also manufactured in other countries. And then, the same tire is frequently manufactured with a different name.

Suggest your local tire shops. If you like the looks and the price is reasonable, buy them. Frequently, mounting the tire is included in the sale price.

Here is a post about turf tires. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=106764

I would take the rims to a truck/equipment tire place and order what you want from them. I did this last time I looked into new tires and the tires were mounted for the same price I would have paid online for just the tire without shipping. I guess their discount is more than the shipping cost so the mounting was included.
