Auction Time down the road from me

Went to an auction down the road from me yesterday. The results are one more I think ‘48 Cub with new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, hanger, rebuilt PTO with new shaft, a McCormick 100 manure spreader, Cub muffler, 193 plow depth lever, Woods 59 mower deck, Cub rear light assembly and a whole pickup full of other stuff which included a nice 110 volt shop winch on a post. That will come handy! I talked to the guy that did all of the work on the Cub so I found out the details of the repairs. Didn’t plan on buying much, boy was I surprised things sold pretty reasonable. Perfect day for an auction. The weather cooperated very well. Sorry, I struggle with posting pictures. So none today. Hope you all got some good deals this weekend too!

I'm curious about the agreement you made with your wife about "no more cubs unless its really special". That"s the way i remember you said it but I don't hear so good either! Congratulations anyway, just hope you didn't get in too much trouble! lol

I have a friend that may want this 1948 Cub. It may go down the road. We’ll see. But things were going pretty reasonable to cheap so I had to pull the trigger. The ‘52 Cub that I sold him several years ago went even cheaper but it is a great runner with a 76 engine in it, but bad rear main leak. All is good so far.

Those auction deals come when least expected, if you go expecting to buy a certain item, it may not work out but if you go with open mind, there is no telling what treasure you’ll end up with. Good haul, Frank!

I really went not expecting to buy much. Figuring prices may be pretty high. They had been advertising that 100 manure spreader for over a year for $1800.00. A nice $250.00 snag. Not prefect but half way decent. Really proud of that deal. Thanks guys!

One Saturday, about 1977, I stopped in to check out a service station auction, on my way home from work (riding my motorcycle). I didn’t really expect buy anything (or even hang around) but they were giving stuff away. Luckily, my brother showed up with his pick-up, which I filled heaping. I bought a lot of tools and shop equipment, that day, that I still use today.

Just sold the ‘49 Cub I bought Saturday to a friend that was at the sale but didn’t want to bid against me. He got a great deal! This Cub was in pretty good shape. It has a nice new home now.
